People Of Dubai
Emiratis are known for their warm hospitality. They are noticeable conservative and sometimes orthodox. The men commonly wear a long shirt-dress, Khandura white color, and a headscarf. The women wear black-colored burkha and hijab.
Islam is the national religion followed by most Emiratis. Because of the increasing amount of ex-pats living in Dubai, the government accepted the other religious objects to built like churches and temples to let other nationals feel more comfortable.
Arabic is the national language of the UAE. In Dubai, English is considered as the second official language. Similar to the more significant diversity of religions, also a lot of other words spoken, like Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, Tagalog, and Pashto.
Culture Of Dubai
The culture of Dubai is mostly influenced by Islamic tradition. The most famous festival celebrated in Dubai is Eid, observed after the month of Ramadan, and the other is the National Day, celebrated in December, commemorating the forming of UAE. However, Dubai has considered the entertainment capital of UAE the nightlife is the part of expats activities, not the locals.
Dressing in public
Dubai is a modern city where tourists and other than Muslim religions are accepted. So then there are no unexpected restrictions on a dress code. Of course, swimwear is allowed on the beaches and pool areas and not appropriate in shopping, business, and religious fields. But this doesn’t make Dubai different from any other place in the words. Some heritage places, especially connected to religious worship, dressing rules are very conservative, for example, to enter a mosque one has to cover shoulders, arms and legs and head for women.
Public displays of affection
Please note it’s a very traditional country and be careful about showing affection in public. Kissing, hugging is not permitted, shaking hands and walk side by side is accepted.
You have to achieve 21 years old or more to buy alcohol, and it’s sold only by licensed spots like hotels, bars, and specialized shops. Drunk driving as well as using or possessing drugs is strictly illegal and being drunk in public is not accepted.
